Dormitory Move-out Process

Regular Move-out

All students residing in the dormitory are only allowed to stay until the end of their residence period.
→ The regular move-out process must be completed within the set timeline and students must move out of the dormitory before the deadline.

Regular Move-out Types and Timelines

- Enter expected move-out date.
- Enter bank account details for receiving refunded deposits (prepayment for utility expenses).
※ Please enter details within the designated period for settlement and prepayment refund.
※ Penalty points are imposed if move-out application details are not entered within the timeline and a room check is conducted during the final hours.
② Submit move-out application form (via UST Dormitory website).
Organize personal items and clean the room ※ Students must clean their rooms before moving out of the dormitory.
Room check Scope of inspection
  Inspected Areas Measures Taken
State of room cleanliness Room floor, desk, bed, drawer, trashcan, toilet, etc. If the room is not clean, it will be re-inspected after it is cleaned again
(re-inspection will be conducted during the next room check hour, and 10 penalty points will be imposed if the room is not considered clean upon re-inspection)
Whether equipment is intact and undamaged Closet shelves, bed, desk, chair, steel basket, etc. Students will be responsible for damage to or loss of equipment
Inspection Time - The Dormitory Operations Team will conduct the inspection after receiving move-out applications - Inspections are conducted during the inspection times requested by students
(students who are moving out must wait in their rooms during their room check time)

Move-out before the End of Residence Period

Detailed procedures for moving out before the end of residence period

Key Matters Regarding the Move-out Process

  • Personal items remaining in dormitory rooms after the move-out period will be discarded.
  • Students must comply with mandatory move-out procedures and must not move out without completing those procedures.
    ※ Criteria for imposing penalty points for non-compliance during the move-out process

Permanent discharge 100 ⑧ Violating dormitory move-in and move-out rules
(cases in which students failed to move in or out of dormitory rooms outside of the designated period or without completing relevant procedures (including room cleaning check during move-out).

Penalty point issuance 10 ② ① Losing the dormitory access card (the cost of creating a new card will be separately charged)

[Attachment Table] Criteria for Dormitory Fee Refund

  • Dormitory fees are refunded in accordance with the Criteria for Dormitory Fee Refund table based on the dormitory opening date (the first date of residence) if a student who has paid the dormitory fee decides not to move into the dormitory, moves out before the end of residence period, or is forcibly discharged from the dormitory. If the student is found to have damaged or lost dormitory equipment, commensurate amounts for compensating for the damage or loss will be deducted from the refunded amount.
  • Refund Date
    ① Dormitory opening date (the first date of residence): the dormitory opening date is determined by the dormitory regardless of when the students actually move in to the dormitory
    ② Residency renunciation date: the date when the renunciation of residency was registered in the dormitory computer system
    ③ Mid-way move-out and forcible discharge dates: the dates when a student actually moves out of the dormitory after they Registered move-out on UST dormitory website
  • Dormitory fees are refunded within 15 days of the residency renunciation or move-out dates
  • Key Matters to Note
    ① Students who move out of the dormitory before the end of residence period and receive a commensurate dormitory fee refund will not be permitted to apply for dormitory residence the following semester.
    - However, mid-way move-outs resulting from leaves of absence due to military service or sick leave (medical certificates advising a 4-week or longer recovery period issued by a general hospital) are acknowledged as exceptions to this rule.
    ② The student applying for renunciation or move-out must be the holder of the bank account designated to receive refunds.
    ③ Applications for residency renunciations and mid-way move-outs cannot be cancelled once they are registered on UST dormitory website.
